Range Rover drops the Limited "Fifty" Model

Range Rover is marking the 50th anniversary of its flagship SUV with the limited-edition release of a Range Rover Autobiography “Fifty” model.

The Range Rover was the original luxury 4×4 and, to this day, still reigns as one of the most luxurious all-terrain vehicles around. The SUV market is more saturated than ever, yet despite this, the Range Rover maintains a level of notoriety that few other cars can achieve. To mark its legacy, Range Rover is producing 1,970 “Fifty” editions of the top-spec Autobiography, citing its birthdate of 1970.

To celebrate its golden anniversary, the Range Rover “Fifty” is fitted with a number of bespoke exterior accents in “Auric Atlas,” and also comes with two unique 22-inch wheel designs. Land Rover’s CCO, Prof Gerry McGovern OBE, has hand-written the “Fifty” script that appears as a badge on the side of each limited-edition vehicle, and throughout the interior in areas including the “1 of 1970” commissioning plaque, headrests, dashboard, and illuminated tread plates.

The Range Rover “Fifty” will be available in both standard and long-wheelbase body designs, which can be painted in Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations-specific colors including “Tuscan Blue,” “Bahama Gold,” and “Davos White,” which are three heritage palettes from the original 1970 model. This can be matched with four carefully curated interiors; “Carpathian Grey,” “Rosello Red,” “Aruba,” and “Santorini Black.”

All models in the United States will be fitted with Range Rover’s signature 518 HP 5.0-liter supercharged V8. Full details for the Range Rover “Fifty,” including pricing and specifications, will be announced later this year closer to the cars’ release.
